Early Entry
Prospective primary students spend a day joining regular classes, which includes a one-on-one session assessing their math and language skills. To complete the application, families need to provide written references from the child’s current school along with recent progress reports. Feedback typically arrives within a few days.
Entry for Years 7-11
Entrance exams for secondary applicants take place in January ahead of the September start. Tests cover mathematics, spelling, reading comprehension, and creative writing, followed by an informal group interview with the leadership team. Selection focuses on academic ability and what the student might contribute to life there, with decisions based on test results, references, and recent reports.
Sixth Form at Frensham Heights School
Sixth Form entrance exams happen in mid-November for the following September. Candidates sit subject-specific tests, particularly in mathematics and sciences, while also needing at least six GCSE certificates with specific grades in English and maths. The process includes an interview with leadership and references from their current place of study, with additional requirements varying by A Level subject choice.
International Students
Around 25% of boarding students come from overseas, contributing to the community’s diversity. For international applicants, entrance tests can be taken remotely and interviews conducted online. Scholarships
Scholarships are offered to students in Years 7-11 based on participation, ability, and leadership.
